Sylvain - New Orleans

Our group thoroughly enjoyed dining at Sylvain. It offers a perfect combination of hip vibes, unique decor, welcoming atmosphere, and delicious food. I brought a large party here to celebrate a birthday, and the service from the wait staff was exceptional. Personally, I loved the pappardelle with bolognese sauce. I am already looking forward to returning. The drinks were also fantastic.

The appeal of this restaurant lies in its humble and inconspicuous setting, tucked away in a location you might easily miss. The menu offers consistently delicious options, making it hard to go wrong. Standout dishes include the spicy cornbread and mouthwatering braised short rib. Don't forget to try their sazerac, as the bartenders here are skilled at their craft. Sit back, relax, and indulge in a tasty meal that won't break the bank.

After spending the day exploring the French Quarter, I was in search of a wallet-friendly and authentic dining experience. Just as I was heading to a neighboring restaurant, I stumbled upon a charming alleyway filled with lively music. This led me to a lovely courtyard with alfresco dining and a cozy bar. Despite not having a reservation, they managed to find me a spot on the patio. I began my meal with warm and tasty cornbread, followed by the most delectable salmon I have ever tasted. To top it off, I indulged in a mouthwatering banana pudding for dessert. The service was personable and efficient, making it one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. This hidden gem has quickly become a new favorite for me!

Was exhausted from a long day of sight seeing and almost didn?t make it to Sylvain?s, especially since they were so busy, they weren?t doing delivery. I am so glad I stumbled over because it was definitely one of the best meals I had in New Orleans! Came for the cornbread with spicy, honey butter (and gorgeous crust), stayed for the marvelous atmosphere and *talented* bar manager, Cynthia. I sat at the bar and despite handling multiple tables and orders at once, always madesure I was looked after. The salad with fried chicken was also super yummy with great textures? next time I?ll ask for dressing on the side.

Pork loin, salad, grilled octopus appetizer and a beer all for under $100. We didn't have reservations so we opted for sitting at the bar, a few minutes wait. We could have sat outside in the courtyard, but as of late the temperature has been close to 100. All in all a pleasant dining experience.
