La Madeleine - New Orleans

One of my favorite spots! You have to try the chicken salad on a croissant—it's fantastic! Everything is always fresh and clean, and the staff genuinely seems to enjoy their work and are very courteous. Great job, everyone! I'll be back tomorrow!

When we arrived, there were hardly any customers, and certainly none at the counter. There were 4-5 staff members behind the counter; at least three seemed to be doing nothing, with one lounging in a chair and others distracted by their phones. The few who appeared to be working were either in or near the back kitchen. I approached the staff member closest to me and apologized several times to get her attention. After a brief wait, she finally looked at me and mumbled a reluctant “yes?” when I expressed my interest in ordering a piece of cake. She didn’t respond, turned, and walked to the back kitchen, where she remained long enough for my friend and me to decide to leave. This was my first visit, and given the lack of service, I have no intention of returning. We were there at 7:30 PM on July 2, 2022.

Realizing I also needed salt and pepper, I went back to her and asked if she could provide those as well. Once again, she shook her head and gestured for me to leave my table to get them myself. I was reluctant to leave my table unattended, so I sat back down. After finishing most of my meal, I discovered that there was indeed salt and pepper inside the plastic utensil packaging. I couldn't help but wonder why she hadn’t mentioned this or provided it before, which led me to feel that she didn’t care and wasn’t interested in being helpful. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and I doubt I'll return to this restaurant. It was quite frustrating.

The food is AMAZING! The young lady waiting for my daughter, and I had to smile and not be creepy. Taking my order was not polite. Instead of this atmosphere was wonderful, welcoming, and the desert was beyond my expectations.

One of my favorite restaurants to go to! It?s not fine dining but more like home style cafe and that?s why I like it. Food is always fresh and delicious. Priced just right?? stud is always friendly thank you everyone who makes our experience here great ?
