The walls are adorned with a variety of soccer memorabilia. The service was friendly and attentive. We only had one drink at the bar, which has seating for about 15 to 20 people.
The best fish and chips I've discovered in New Haven! They are absolutely perfect, just the way I love them, in true Irish style. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. If you're searching for an authentic Irish pub, this is definitely a fantastic choice.
As we stepped into Trinity Bar, an old-school, traditional Irish pub, we immediately felt at home. We settled at a high-top table in the main dining room, where our server, Tracey, took care of us. She was truly impressive, seemingly managing the entire place by herself—bartending, taking orders, delivering food to both dining rooms, clearing tables, and handling bills. Her efficiency and hard work were commendable. I opted for the Southwest Salad, which was reasonably priced at $11, while my brother went for the calamari, priced at $14. My salad was delicious and well-balanced, featuring romaine lettuce, avocado, tomatoes, black beans, shredded cheddar, tortilla crisps, pico de gallo, and a side of homemade chipotle ranch dressing. My brother's calamari was outstanding as well. I sampled a few pieces, including the squid and cherry peppers, along with the marinara sauce. Calamari can often be hit or miss—sometimes rubbery and difficult to chew, or overly greasy. However, Trinity’s calamari was fantastic. We chose to keep it simple without any drinks, and our lunch tab came to just $27. We also discovered that Tracey had another hidden talent as an excellent photographer; she took a photo of us that turned out so well I decided to crop it for my new primary profile picture on Yelp. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I can’t wait to return.
I had been wanting to check out The Trinity Bar for some time, but since I'm not from the area, I wasn't sure where to find it. While walking somewhere else on Sunday morning around 11 am, I noticed a crowd gathered outside a bar. That’s when I spotted the Irish flag and the sign for The Trinity Bar. I had just enough time to grab a beer. The atmosphere inside was nice and fitting for an Irish pub. By 11:30 am, most of the seating was taken due to the Liverpool and Arsenal game. You have to admire a bar that can draw in a crowd before noon on a Sunday. They offered a great selection of beers, and I ordered Tribus, their own brew. It was very good! I've seen photos of their Fish and Chips and have heard food enthusiasts claim it’s the best in Connecticut—it certainly looks that way. I plan on going back to try it. Until then, I’ll give it 5 stars!
Wow! I really enjoy discovering new places... well, new to me at least, though not new to New Haven. I'm always on the lookout for excellent fish and chips, and this Irish pub does not disappoint. The interior is spacious and attractive, and the staff is friendly—special thanks to Hannah, my server. They also have a nice selection of draft beers. I can't wait to come back soon with friends!
