Knock knots were my favorite thing; would be back for the Lil types. fruitcake was good. cake itself was moist and not too sweet, but there was too much frost. overall, the vegan tax is flourishing.
Costa has quite a few alternatives to chicken and beef in the form of grinders and pizzas. Some of their items include “chicken” fingers with vegan “blue cheese”, “burger” subs and grinders, “meat”ball subs, Parmesan, “sausage” and peppers, over salads, etc. If I’m not feeling Asian cuisine or comfort Caribbean food from Vegan Ahava or Ninth Square Market Caribbean Too, I’m going here. One thing I keep track of when it comes to “voting” with my money towards veganism is if an establishment only contains vegan options as a “dietary” alternative or if the business is strictly vegan, maybe even with the term in their business name, or somewhere in between. Costa doesn’t seem to be fully compromising here, which I appreciate. While they do sell animal products, flesh, milk, etc. they have a large vegan sign out front and under their main menu online, VEGAN leads off the selection. I think it would be better if they kept moving in this direction and I fully support that and in line with HappyCow policy, I only use >4 stars for fully vegan establishments. But I want to put a note of appreciation that someone here is taking the time to make vegan options more than just a small print checkbox to tick. #Veganuary
Vegan cheese available. Had the veggie pizza with vegan cheese. They have many vegan subs as well that I have yet to try
Lots of vegan options. Had the vegan sausage and peppers sub. Second best sub roll I've had in CT (the best was brought in from Arthur Ave in NY for a CT deli). Tasted exactly like the ones I had from my omni days, to the point where I was a little concerned. Only complaint would be that I wish it had more cheese.
Small place with many vegan options! The expensive and vegan pizzas were more expensive than the non-vegan pizzas tasted! No toilets! Updated by previous review on 2023-02-20
