Claypot Chef - New Haven

Being the only Indian food truck here, I was excited to try it! Boy was I wrong. The samosas were soggy with oil and not crispy at all.

They are really good. Try their lamb Biryani. They came to our community. Awesome

I cringe when I have to leave a small business anything less than 4 stars. I can only imagine how hard people work to build up their business. But I have to be honest; I was not impressed with the two items I ordered. The price point for an order of samosa (2 pieces) and bhel puri was $12. The samosa filling was ok but not as flavorful as I 've had at many other restaurants. The bhel puri was tasty but a little on the soggy side and not what I expected when I read crispy in the description. Having driven an hr to food truck paradise I don 't know that I 'd frequent this truck again. Maybe I 'd try one more item but not likely. I will say that, having the choice of Indian food among 15 Spanish food trucks was a nice change of pace.

Great little food truck along the wharf in New Haven. Very fresh and made to order. My daughter ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, light on spice, and it was a huge portion, piping hot and with mellow spices. I ordered the saag paneer and it was fantastic. The rice is light and fluffy and the dish was spicing and well seasoned. We were both really pleased with our choices.

Ordered samosa and mango lassi. Both were freshly prepared and delicious. Price is reasonable.
