Forest Edge Cafe And Teahouse

I visited this restaurant yesterday for a lunchtime snack and coffee around noon. The interior of the restaurant was pleasant and the waitresses were friendly and welcoming. It didn't seem too crowded. We ordered two cappuccinos, a cheese and ham toastie, and a toasted teacake to share. The coffees came out quickly, but then we waited for our food. We noticed that several other tables were also waiting for their orders. By the time our food arrived, we had finished our coffees and had to order more. The sandwich and teacake were delicious, but again, we had finished before our second round of coffees arrived. It was clear that the waitresses were familiar with most of the other customers in the restaurant, who seemed to be regulars and knew what to expect.

We arrived at the restaurant at 1:30 and placed our order, being told there would be a 15-minute wait. We had a bus to catch at 2:30 so this was not a problem. However, we noticed that the lady next to us had been waiting for her pot of tea for over 30 minutes. At 2:10, we informed the staff that we were going to miss our bus. Finally, at 2:15, our food arrived and we had to rush through our meal. We also had to search for someone in the kitchen to pay the bill. Overall, we would give this restaurant 2 stars because the food was good. Despite the delays, we miraculously made it to our bus with only 1 minute to spare.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. The staff is incredibly friendly, the food is excellent, and everything is freshly cooked and served on hot plates (a rarity these days). The portions are generous, allowing me to even take home a slice of delicious cake after my meal. The cakes are out of this world.

The main course was beautiful and served hot on hot plates. The staff was very friendly and the homemade cake was fantastic. I will definitely return and recommend giving it a try.

Lovely café with a cozy atmosphere, serving delicious coffee and freshly roasted sandwiches. It appears to be following COVID safety guidelines.
