Throughout my life, it has been my premier comfort food, and I 've had some wonderful, fantastic pizzas. My dad was a trained chef and my ex partner 's grandmother Lucia was right off the boat from Napoli, and both of their pizzas were in a word celestial creations, works of art.<br/ <br/ But even their creations fall short of the wonders achieved by the Militano brothers at Gerlanda 's.<br/ <br/ Gerlanda 's was established in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1979. Partners Drew and Anthony Militano and Kevin Welsh named the restaurant after the Militanos ' grandmother Gerlanda. The partners and their dedicated staff have been serving this Central New Jersey community, Rutgers University faculty and students, and many large corporate institutions from its inception.<br/ <br/ This eatery alone is sufficient reason to select Rutgers, the State University (New Brunswick campus) for one 's higher education.<br/ <br/ Do I give the impression that I 'more than like ' Gerlanda 's efforts? Good, that 's what I intended. Calling Gerlanda 's pizza 'good pizza ' is like calling Mount Everest a hill. Every other pizza I 've tasted locally is not much better than eating cardboard!
Pizza, yeah, very delicious. two thumbs up for this place. definitely worth a return trip. it has a nice feel to it. food is similar to a place in san francisco i liked.
The pizza at Gerlanda's is the best you'll possibly get at Rutgers. The one on College Ave is a lot better than the one Busch Campus Center. The crust is crisp on College Ave and soggy on Busch Campus Center.
We arrived at this spot for dinner. my friend recommended this restaurant. Well, we were not disappointed. we were warmly welcomed by the staff and we felt very good. The food was just great. We had a great time and we shall definitely come back again. We recommend this place to all.
I've been coming to Gerlanda's for 3 years and have always been extremely satisfied with both the pizza and the coffee. It is by far the best place to get coffee on campus. They get their coffee from a roaster in New Jersey and it's always super fresh. They have great speciality drinks that, in my opinion, are much better than Starbucks in value and price. Their pizza is very good and better than other places off campus (the option of the whole wheat crust is great! The staff is incredibly personable and professional. It's most definitely a little gem at Rutgers!
