Black's Barbecue New Braunfels

We had a sampling of the grill. The ribs were fabulous, especially with the house sauce! Also the brisket, the chicken and the sides were delicious. The in-law had this old school, sharp veggie taste. With the rich dressing they use it was so delicious if you like the old school taste.

I've been to all other Black's in Texas and love them all but I've got to say that this one definitely needs to step it up. I was coming from San Antonio and planned on stopping at the San Marcos location. Which always hits the spot. Then I saw a sign for this location and decided that this was the only one that I haven't eaten at. I should have known when I arrived at lunchtime that the parking lot was empty when normally at other Black's there's a no parking and a line out the door. But I decided to give it a shot anyway based on the past experiences with Black's. I hate to say that I regret it. I was pressed for time so I opted for a sliced brisket sandwich combo with jalapeño sausage. Both the sausage and the brisket lacked Black's signature flavor. The bun was so stale/hard that I ended up transferring the meat in the free loaf bread by the ice dispensers but still something was off. This is the first time in all of the years eating Black's that I left disappointed. I'm giving it 3 out of the 5 stars only because of the usually splendid service and bbq Black's normally provide but if this was a new place I truly would have given it only one.

Wow, the pages are really good. Brisket best I had no doubt or question about it at all. Get a little brisket while Jalapeños, Ghost Puff and Slav and Nuts go. They could touch this brisket with a tooth handle without a point and they would fall apart. Melting in the mouth?

I was so excited about a good barbecue, so I came here based on the reviews. Let's say I was so disappointed. Negative. Let's start with the pages, they didn't really have a choice. I decided to go with the cream corn and macaroni and cheese. They were decent, but they really tasted like it brought shop against homemade. To the meat sold by the pound. Very delicate, but not seasoned. So I thought the barbecue sauce would make the difference because this is a barbecue. NOT!!! All they had was some water down the grill sauce in the bottle. Power-grill sauce taste better than that. I was fine with the picnic tables, I was even fine with the terrible ambience, but I feel like I cheated because this place was somehow expensive when we didn't eat the food! Pro... The only thing this place had done for her was her peach-cobbler and the friendly staff. I wouldn't recommend anyone here if they wanted a real barbecue experience.

I am from the city and would like to visit the restaurants in the city. the brisket was as good as I ever had. the sides were very good. the atmosphere was great. the only trouble in my group was that was a bit dry. I would recommend the place to everyone.
