I had to laugh as they had a sign on the wall that listed there was a 50 minute time limit for lunch and a 70 minute time limit for dinner. I inquired about it to the hostess. She told me they really did not enforce that rule. On one hand, I understand that time is money and you want folks to eat and go. On the other hand, it is kinda hard core for you even to post something like that. I would had to be continuing looking at my watch going, 'Come on, lets hurry up, they are going to throw us out. ' I was not very hungry, so I ordered a flauta and tortilla soup. It came with a side of refried beans, which was a nice touch. The beans had an amazing flavor to them. The soup was very filling. I appreciated they brought flour tortillas to the table, which were homemade. The fajita meat for the nachos were also very flavorful. I was impressed they used actual cheddar cheese and did not cheap out and try to pass off 'American Cheese ' as authentic. The service was amazing. We were in and out well within our 50 minute time limit. I appreciated the server 's attention to detail. Overall, this is a great little lunch spot to grab lunch or dinner when you are craving Mexican food and are not sure where to go.
This was my first visit to Adobe Cafe. I ordered the Tex-Mex #9 and sweet iced tea. The chicken enchilada was fresh, cheesy, and delicious. The crispy taco was fresh, filling, and delicious. The chalupa was fresh, tasty, and delicious. The Mexican rice was moist and tasty. The re-fried beans were creamy and delicious. The sweet tea was just about perfect. The service was fast and friendly. The prices are comparable to other similar restaurants. They have plenty of indoor seating and off-street parking.
The first basket of chips was free. After that you have to pay for them. Not many choices on the menu and we didn't stay and eat.
We were leaving Schlitterbaun and I asked fellow riders die good restaurant suggestion. The shuttle driver said without hesitation Cafe Adobe with CONFIDENCE! So we tried it. OMG everything was FANTASTIC! We had Chicken flautas, sizzling fajitas, and mole chicken enchiladas as recommended by Savanna (who was just as awesome). The BEANS were amazing too. Will DEFYBW BACK!
Have had this place book marked for quite sometime and with a trip to the outlet store it was a perfect time...place was jumping, greete Quickly and seated....Chips, salsa arrived promptly...we also ordered a large Queso...everything was tasty, salsa tasted fresh and when added to the Queso it hit the spot..service was great...Larry took great care of us...I did notice other patrons calling him by his first name, so I'm assuming Larry is a regular as well...really nice to see!!...I went with the enchilada verdes..sauce was spot on, corn on top was a first and added texture..very good...chicken was tender..great bite of food..rice fluffy and fresh..Charro's were perfectly cooked and so flavorful!...Wife picked the Chipotle Beef Tips...Sauce was unlike any other she had tried, but sadly the meat was extremely tuff...flavorful...but seriously was almost inedible in its current state...she spent more time cutting the meat into tiny pieces then eating...sad to...is was SO good flavor wise...simply put...this would Not keep us from coming back...she usually stick to her guns and get enchiladas, but wanted to try something different...I'm sure there are plenty of other delicious menu items she would love...we will keep it on the back burner, as it's a bit of a drive from Manor..Over all still a decent visit.
