Peking Garden - New Bern

It seems that the people in this city only have a taste for fried chicken if they believe this is the best Chinese food. The fried chicken was crispy and flavorful, the standout dish in my order. However, the rest of the food (beef and broccoli, crab Rangoon, house fried rice) was all bland and lacked any real Asian flavors such as garlic, ginger, or spice. The portions were generous, which was a positive. The staff were nice and friendly. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience.

My brother brought me to this restaurant one night and I was blown away by the flavors! I couldn't believe my brother had never brought me here before. We ordered the house fried rice and dumplings to take out. It's possibly the best food in New Bern! However, it is quite pricey. Next time, I might just come here on my own without my brother.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in New Bern, without a doubt. I highly recommend the bourbon chicken, it is tender and cooked in a delicious brown sauce (not too sweet). They also serve a side of the sauce for their crispy crab rangoons for only $1 extra. It's a must try!
