Taqueria La Raza - New Bedford

The tacos were delicious! I had 2 carnitas and 1 al pastor. my passion fruit mojito was ok, not impressed. the music selection was really good and our waitress was very friendly.

This is the place to go when you are in the mood for good food. As to the service, I wasn't impressed with the service. While waiting for my food I tried to order a drink several times. I asked the server to please get ma a drink? She turned her head and walked away. I asked the hostess if I could at lease get a drink of water? She laughed and walked away. 20 minutes, still no drink and my food arrived. Fresh Hot Steak Taco's and finally a drink!

The service and food was great but their salsa was not good at all. It was super watered down. I don't know if this was just bad luck or the norm but the three of us at lunch didn't care for it. The black beans were a bit questionable looking but tasted okay. If they fixed the salsa I'd rate it 4 stars.

Service there is trash, but the food is good enough to make you forget how terrible the servers are. I usually order takeout from them, but decided to sit down and eat. Worst mistake I ever made. No one greeted us when we walked in. I had to ask if we seat ourselves. It took a long time to get menus and even longer to get to order. It took so long to get a server over that we ended up ordering drinks, apps and our main meal all at once when someone finally decided to stop by. On top of that, no one ever checked on us. Drinks were never refilled. Place was almost empty when we went and the servers were seen sitting at the bar chilling, so they couldn't even use being busy as an excuse. When I asked for the check, I saw that 15% gratuity was already added. Poor strategy to keep people to come back when you automatically give yourself a tip for bad service. I really liked their food but I will no longer eat there.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. The food takes forever to arrive and the fact that gratuity is added on a bill without a persons consent should be illegal (probably is) the foods okay but I would take great service and okay food over the other. The owners need to do better.
