Butternut Bistro - New Bedford

This is a hidden gem! My husband and I had lunch there today. The staff was welcoming and considerate. The space is clean and organized and the food was fabulous. Made to order, big portions and delicious. Take the time to go!

Nice to have something a little different in the neighborhood. Homemade food, pies and muffins are delicious. Will definitely be back.

We just enjoyed our very first meal at Butternut Bistro. Extremely friendly service by everyone. We both had Eggs Benedict .....absolutely delicious. The menu is quite extensive and we want to try everything. Next time we will have crepes. Very cosy place. It's far North New Bedford, where Sassaquin Pond is....enjoy your meal and then take a walk around the pond. Open for breakfast and lunch. Friday's open for fish and chips.

I visited on a weekday with my daughter, and our experience was delightful. The waitress was excellent—friendly, attentive, and very helpful. We ordered a hot cocoa, a coffee, crepes, and an egg sandwich with fruit and sausage. The food was quite good, though slightly pricey; I had $40 on me, and the total came to around $34. Overall, it was a lovely experience! I must also mention that their fish and chips are fantastic. We got those as takeout, and they were delicious—truly unbeatable!

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I just moved to the area and wanted to grab a coffee. The door indicated that only online orders were being accepted today, but I noticed a man walk out with coffee, so I thought I’d ask. As soon as I opened the door, the staff member on the phone abruptly ended her conversation and scolded me like a child, insisting that only online orders were allowed—despite the sign on the door! This was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I was planning to visit regularly since it's within walking distance, but after that experience, I won't be returning.
