The Bullpen Grill - New Athens

A friend and I have eaten there twice. NEVER AGAIN! We were treated very poorly by two different servers. They were both rude, snooty smart asses who thought they were better than us for some reason. The food was not good at all. The first time I thought it was dirty grease. The second time we both had bad food burnt fries and soggy lettuce. I got sick from eating there and my friend said a family member also got sick from eating their expired food. DON 'T GO THERE! Terrible food AND terrible servers with bad attitudes.

The food isn 't bad for being in the boondocks of the Kaskaskia. The only fault would be the under age drinking that often goes unnoticed.

The service was good, and the food arrived quickly. The staff were friendly; however, I ordered toasted ravioli, and when I tried it, it was hard. It seemed to have a large frozen piece inside, or perhaps something else—I’m not entirely sure.

I absolutely love The Bullpen! The staff is friendly, and the food is outstanding. I'm always satisfied with my experience. I really appreciated that they offered curbside carryouts during the COVID pandemic.

The restaurant often runs out of their specials, which is frustrating. If you don’t have enough product, it’s better not to offer a special at all. Additionally, the servers tend to bring drinks from other tables to yours, which can be uncomfortable for me as a recovering alcoholic. I came for the food, not to be confronted with alcohol.
