No frills and one of the longest section of tapas I have seen outwith Redondo Bar in the centre of town. Mostly locals in the bar watching the Spanish La Liga and we also enjoyed a Barcelona game as well as a Manchester City game later on in the week. A generous and different choice of tapas than we had been used to which was why we went there 4 times during out 9 night stay. Thoroughly recommended !! Again my apologies for not posting any photos I am still having problems uploading them, they take forever and then time out so I'll try again later.
A bit further out of town but well worth it. Doesn't look much from the outside but the flavours of the food were amazing. Family run and unpretentious but friendly and good choice of free tapas or larger plates if feeling hungry.
This Tapas restaurant is slightly away from the main town, and doesn’t look like much from the outside and in, and there is limited seating inside. However, the food is absolutely extraordinary. We couldn’t stop eating! Everything we bought, from croquettes to calamari to chorizo to fish, tasted absolutely incredible. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any wanting some brilliant Andalusian food in Nerja in my opinion the best food in the town!
Food is not world class or anything, but I give it a 5 for the experience. Really loud locals are next to me at the bar (I assume locals because they are speaking Spanish and know the staff). I ordered mussels and was told it was out, went for chorizo and blood sausage tapas instead with a pint. Great choice. The bill was 4.50 total. Now im impressed.
A very typical local bar with something for everyone in the way of fresh tapas. A great place to watch soccer matches, especially if one of the Spanish teams is playing! David, his girlfriend and his dad run the bar and cook the food right behind it on spotless equipment. Clean, friendly, and inexpensive, Bar El Cangrejo serves up great cooked-to-order fish, shellfish, chorizo (some of the best), and more, not to mention great wines and tinto de verano on tap, ice cold. We make a point of stopping in at least two or three times during every trip to Nerja.
