The Highlander - Neath Port Talbot

Real old alcohol. friendly and welcoming with many drinks to choose from. decoration is dated, but comfortable. there is the feeling of a safe environment for couples and friends to sit and chat. beautiful atmosphere in there.

I decided to give this takeout another chance, despite my previous review being from 2017. I really wish I had read it before spending £2.50 on what was labeled as "Thai" prawn crackers. They were not authentic Thai crackers, but more like the ones you usually get for free with a Chinese meal, only these were soggy and greasy. The tempura prawns were not actually in tempura batter, but breaded and reminiscent of something you would find in a pub. The red Thai curry was decent, but it was filled with slimy aubergine, which was unpleasant. The special fried rice contained frozen vegetables and what appeared to be lettuce, and the prawn toast was simply terrible, the worst I have ever tasted. The only reason I gave this review more than one star is because, despite the fact that it took over 2 and a half hours for my order to be delivered (even though I live just a few hundred yards away), the driver was very apologetic for the delay and gave me a can of soda. The delivery driver was lovely, but the food was awful. I will never order from here again.

The Tom Yum soup is absolutely delicious. The curries and butterfly prawn starter are also excellent. I wasn't a big fan of the spicy noodles, but that's just personal preference. I've tried most of the noodle dishes and they are all fantastic. As seafood eaters, we appreciate the variety of options available for us. Additionally, the staff are willing to accommodate any dietary preferences, such as making a meat dish vegetarian. Overall, this restaurant is excellent.

Stay away from this restaurant at all costs. The food is microwaved and subpar, not even fit for a dog to eat. There are much better takeout options available in the area.

Ordered a Thai takeaway from the highlander and ordered a red Thai curry, green Thai curry and chips What turned up was a watery mess with strips of processed meat which was apparently chicken After draining off the liquid what was left I wouldn’t even entertain eating as it Looked like the last scraps in the barrel. The chips were even more of an embarrassment as they were McCain oven fries in a box! Crinkle cut oven fries! Very disappointed and will not be ordering again! Even had to pay £2.50 delivery charge considering the order was over £20! Wrote a review on their Facebook page which has been deleted by them. Disgusting and if that is the quality of food, doesn’t deserve to be trading as it’s certainly not fit for consumption. Don’t deserve to call themselves a Thai. If I could give no stars I would! UTTER EMBARRASSMENT
