Shillingfords Fish And Chip Shop

Really disappointed to change this review but I placed an order online for delivery like I normally have and normally get delivery within 45min to 1 hour after, but tonight 2 hours lapsed and still nothing turned up, I tried to call the shop but no one answered after multiple calls so I decided to visit the shop and the lady behind the counter went to look for the bag with the receipt to find it at the bottom of the pile and was very helpful, I was happy to take the food there as its always tasty and hot but just out the blue Rees (not the owner) working behind the fryer asked the lady what 's wrong, she said the order was over 2 hours old and he quite abruptly said oh well shrugging his shoulders. No offer of an explanation or a phone call to say it 's going to be running late just pure negativity towards the customer. I think shillingfords needs to go back to the delivery services like Uber or deliveroo where if things like this happen we can just simply raise the issue with them and let them deal with it, when they are running their own delivery service and have a staff member with some negative responses it leaves me to say I won 't be going back here again and will be using hikarys or the model from now on. Such a shame as the food, nearly all the staff and it 's owners are fantastic but to be treated like this even once is once to much!

Had food delivered tonight first time my partner has tried food from here and he loved it said best chips he's ever tasted and are it all normally he don't eat many chips will definitely be ordering from here again thank you

Haven’t ordered from here in a few months and typically the food was very good. Today I placed an order on delivery and the fish that was delivered was very small in size even though I paid £6 for it. My fish and my girlfriend’s fish were both very dark in colour and the inside of mine was incredibly dry. Will not be coming back again unfortunately.

Excellent fish and chips every time, the family loves it.

Shillingfords lives up to their reputation for quality. You have to wait, of course, for freshly cooked food but it's certainly worth it.
