Arabo Amir - Neapel

I think it will be the 10th time I've been back and usually I had a great time, good, tasty food. NOT TONIGHT, we immediately realized that there was something strange, tasteless food, bordering on USELESS, previously sublime aubergine meatballs were inedible tonight, the couscous was soft and plated like chicken food, falafel the size of a penny 20 cents (the only thing edible, among other things) and a tajine which was also BLAND and devoid of culinary sense... I asked, in the end, and I discovered that the chef is no longer the same... after all he was VERY CLEAR...therefore...NEVER AGAIN!!!

Beautiful experience, absolutely to be repeated, the place was really super intimate, we ate the best falafel of our life and the Palestinian dishes were delicious, I highly recommend it. A very welcoming place that breathes stories and tales from its walls. Very kind and helpful staff. Very good food, we tried some creams and dishes with all three types of meat, at the suggestion of the staff, to also try the different condiments. Everything is delicious, it's worth ordering different dishes to share to taste something from each one. Optimal! Food: 5

BAD EXPERIENCE! I came here on the advice of a (trusted) friend, who had recommended the place to me for its excellent cuisine. The place actually turned out to be a total disappointment! Starting from the staff: friendly, yes, but unfortunately they omit some ingredients, and this can really be a danger for those with allergies (or intolerances). Furthermore, without even warning, they changed the sauces of an order, since they were not present in the refrigerator (sauces among other things clearly prepared too long in advance and served almost frozen). In the kitchen then the worst: overcooked rice, dishes with dubious flavours, couscous is practically a broth, and the meat, both chicken and veal, dry and rubbery. All for the modest sum of €30 per person (with mineral water directly from the tap): never again. UPDATE we only realized when we went out that some negative reviews had been added recently, which highlighted the new chef in the kitchen: now we understand the reason for this very bad experience! Sin.

When a restaurant that has existed for many years suddenly decides to change its chef, it must make sure that the flavors and quality of the food remain unchanged. Unfortunately, this is not the case with the Amir restaurant, a place where I have been many times and have always eaten very well. Last night felt like I was eating in a restaurant I had never been to before. Tasteless food, dishes not even remotely comparable to previous versions. A real shame, because until the restaurant returns to its former glory, I really don't think about going back and recommending it to others.
