The wait in line was excruciatingly long, and two out of the three items we wanted were not available. It appears there may be a shortage of staff as the season is winding down. I suggest looking for another place to have lunch if you are planning a tour. However, the Knowth tour was excellent with a knowledgeable guide, and Knowth is definitely worth a visit as a world-class site (just don't count on having lunch there!).
We had lunch here before visiting Newgrange. The restaurant offers a great selection of delicious food and drinks. The indoor seating is comfortable and Irish Covid passes are checked before payment. Water is complimentary.
If a visitor center has a cafe, they also have a restaurant open to the public. We had reservations at 1:45, so we didn't have the opportunity to have lunch, only the cafe. The food was fine, but it was overpriced for what it was. I liked that all the food was locally sourced, but overall it was just okay, especially considering the price.
I highly recommend trying out this restaurant for breakfast. The dishes are prepared with high-quality ingredients, cooked perfectly, and served with friendly service. We've been here for breakfast twice now and it's definitely worth a visit.
After visiting Bru na Boinne, we stopped by this restaurant. Intrigued by a sign advertising their 'award-winning raspberry scones,' we couldn't resist trying them. We were not disappointed, especially when paired with fresh jam and butter. Our group also tried the roast vegetable soup, which they agreed was the best soup they had tasted during our time in Ireland. In addition to a variety of sandwiches, pastries, teas, and coffees, this place served as a perfect ending to our tour.
