We decided to try Saffron and ordered a Rice Bowl with Chicken and Tikka Masala sauce. The dish had a great balance of rice, sauce, and meat. The Tikka Masala sauce was rich and creamy, but milder in flavor compared to other Indian restaurants I’ve visited. Overall, it was tasty, and I would recommend it. On the other hand, we tried the Cauliflower Manchurian, which looked vibrant when served but was surprisingly lacking in flavor. I was quite disappointed. The cauliflower was perfectly crunchy, but the sauce fell short. This dish is supposed to have a sweet soy flavor with hints of ginger, but I didn’t detect any of that. I cannot recommend this dish.
The restaurant is decent, but it offers a limited selection, and not everything is up to par. The flavors do not truly represent authentic Indian cuisine. The chicken in the chicken Manchurian I ordered was slightly undercooked. They use pre-made gravies, which are mixed with your choice of meat or paneer, so there isn't much room for customization.
The food was absolutely fantastic! My friend and I both ordered the chicken tikka masala with rice, and the flavors were a perfect 10/10. Our dishes arrived fresh and piping hot. The vegetable samosas were generously filled and incredibly tasty. I also tried mango lassi for the first time and really loved it. We enjoyed perfectly baked garlic naan as well. The prices were great too. Overall, it was superb! I loved every bite of food and every sip of drink.
Grabbed a few bites to eat while listening to some live music on a Friday night. Ordered the Chicken Tikka Kebab, Vegetarian Samosas, and Coconut Tomato Soup. Received a text about 10 minutes later that my food was ready for pickup. Food was good, but the chicken was a little dry. Samosas were good and the chutney tasted great. My favorite was the Coconut Tomato Soup as it had a nice creamy balance between the Coconut and Tomato. Overall, good quick and convenient place to get Indian food while visiting the Assembly Food Hall.
