I had read many good reviews about this place and decided to take my boyfriend there after picking him up at the airport one trip in to see me. When we got there it was just a standard deli counter and I felt bad having to make him wait, standing in line, etc. after traveling all day. So, to ALL, this is not standard sit down service, BUT, it does provide an excellent Falafel sandwich and side salads that's worth stopping for when you don't care to be waited on. They were very friendly and helpful explaining different menu items and there's plenty on the menu to explore. Very good!
Stale food. Overpriced. Falafel was reheated. You can't reheat falafel and have it taste good. Felt ripped off.
I just moved back to Nashville after 15 years and was pleased to find the city with a substantially broadened culinary palette. Kalamata's has become one of my haunts. The food is promptly prepared and economically priced, but definitely not fast food; and everything is overseen by Middle Eastern native Mahir, so you know it's the genuine article. The value added is the excellent oud music(Middle Eastern lute)that they always have playing overhead (I always hate it when I go to an ethnic restaurant and they have Michael Bolton playing. It tends to kill the aura).
Loved, loved, loved this place! Spinach pie and hummus appetizers were wonderful! The tomato basil Florentine soup was out of this world (especially when
Love getting their chicken kabob plateEverything that comes with the plate is so good Their steak kabob is also a great choice.
