It had been a few years since our last visit, but we had heard great things about the food and atmosphere. We arrived at 5:00 for our reserved table and were promptly seated. Opting to sit in the bar area, we were pleased with our table near the bar. Our waiter, Rip, greeted us within moments of sitting down. He took our drink orders, helping my wife choose a martini that suited her preferences. The drinks arrived quickly, and my wife loved her Nutty Irishman martini so much that she ordered a second, which is rare for her. For an appetizer, we enjoyed the warm spinach artichoke dip, which was delicious. For our main dishes, I had the sirloin steak frites and my wife ordered the shrimp and smoked tomato carbonara. My steak frites were tasty, and although my wife thought the carbonara was decent but not her favorite due to the smoked flavor, she found it tasted better when she had leftovers at home a couple of nights later. We both appreciated the cozy dining area, which was quiet and allowed us to have a conversation without shouting. The bar was well-appointed, and we noted that it would be a great spot for drinks and pizza. The other dining area options were also appealing. Rip, our waiter, was attentive without being intrusive, and he provided helpful suggestions for our dining and drinking choices. We definitely plan to return, especially when the patio seating is available in the warmer months.
We had an excellent dinner with great service at this restaurant. We ordered the special, which included grilled salmon and shrimp on a bed of vegetable risotto, as well as the chicken pot pie. Both dishes were incredibly tasty, with the risotto standing out as the best I've ever had.
This is the worst tasting food I've had in a long time. It tastes like it was cooked in a damp basement. I recommend skipping this place and finding somewhere else to eat.
A nice mid week dinner out for me and my hubby. MT’s has a lovely, warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff are friendly and wonderful. Our food was good, solid quality food. I had the fried chicken sandwich which was super crispy and tender. And the fries were crispy and hot as well. I would have maybe liked a little more seasoning on my sandwich or some extra pickles. My husband enjoyed his pork loin meal which was the special this night. The main reason I’m giving three stars is because we waited a full hour for our meal which crossed the line of acceptable wait time. Yes, my husband had a soup and yes we had some bread. But a solid hour for our entree is just too long. I found my energy and my enthusiasm waning as each minute with no food went by. Maybe there was a mistake in the kitchen? We have eaten here before and it seemed out of the ordinary. Anyway, we still enjoyed our meal and our time. And we will go back.
They love the garnels and whisky brotpudding! they save space for dessert if they can not, they will pack it to go.
