I love how friendly people are behind the counter. Do not see what you want and they will do it for you. For grocery Sushi it's pretty good

It was really surprising to see the quality of the sushi offerings drop so significantly after the expansion of the restaurant. The staff looks like it is widely changed out, as we only recognized one of the staff who had been there for years. The California rolls are now half cucumber, leaving both avocado and kani surimi (crab) almost not present. The sashimi had certain fish varieties clearly pre-frozen as that taste is very obvious and that was very disappointing. Nigiri quality just OK but little variety in a 10-piece (lots of doubles when a true deluxe offers ten different fish). The expansion has easily doubled the interior space available for seating, but the quality has taken a huge hit. Really below average.
Yoshimama is our go to sushi restaurant, we go not quite every week, maybe 3 times a month. We've never had a bad meal, except the teriyaki chicken and salmon can be a bit dry), so I just don't order it. I usually get a house salad with seaweed salad and 4 pieces of the best salmon sashimi. Their fresh roll is unique and very different to how other restaurants do it. Their lunch special is good value, and it runs on the weekend too. Not open Mondays.
