The location was convenient to the central area of the city. Get there early (if dining on a weekend for lunch) since the place fills up. The food was very good. I had the cinghiale and my wife had the polenta with sausage. The restaurant is known for it's pizza as noticed from the various types of pizzas on the menu. We also had the antipasto with the various meats and cheeses (which was very good). The atmosphere is a bit lacking especially since the television was on. From where we were sitting we are unsure whether there are tables with a view over the countryside. The price of the lunch was a bit pricey for what we ordered. The cinghiale was 13 Euro and the polenta with sausage was 12 Euro. This was comparable to Rome prices but should have been less for locations as this outside of the capital (according to our experience). Upon receiving the conto I was presented with a total and no itemized bill. A bit disappointing that I had to ask for one. I've never been to a restaurant where they didn't provide the itemized bill. Nonetheless, the experience was nice overall.
To start with: what can one think of an Italian restaurant that has run out of spaghetti and basil and despite of that they sell caprese (tomato-basil-mozzarella salad), but it just comes without basil (without telling it to the customer in beforehand), and spaghetti carbonara, spaghetti replaced with some other pasta? Dishes in general were tasty, antipasto plate was very nice, pizza was ok, pasta very good. Service was slow and not very attentive.
Il Ghibellini is quite basic but the pizzas are good and we enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace on a warm evening. We thought the pizzas better than the pasta and a bottle of red wine we ordered arrived very warm. But service was efficient and friendly and I would recommend it for a simple dinner.
Local that places its outdoor tables in different points between alleys and a beautiful panoramic terrace on the walls. It offers a menu with a choice contained in which the typical dishes of the territory are mastered. The service is informal and a careless fur (more for organizational issues, I think, than for lack of commitment of the staff running up and down stairs and lanes to bring the dishes). The price quality ratio is good; suitable for both family and friends dinners; Also if you put yourself in the right place you could get a romantic setting in couple. In summary, if you do not have big claims you will have dinner in a pleasant way.
