An easy walk from Kintetsu-Nara station it was easy to find on the 2nd floor. Friendly staff who spoke enough English to make ordering easy. Just ask for the vegan menu and they’ll happily bring it to you. Food came out fresh, sizzling hot, and picture perfect. The taste did not disappoint either. Her sweet and sour ‘chicken’ looked and tasted delicious. You’d never know it was vegan unless someone told you. We’d definitely return if in Nara again. So nice to enjoy such a great meal together where we could each find a dish that suits something for everyone’s tastes.
I know this isn’t a fully veg place BUT this is best food I had on this whole trip! The sweet n sour soy meat was phenomenal, I could eat it every day. So, I’d recommend that OR the set. The set came with a veggie salad, rice, soup, and tofu. Very filling and very delicious! I personally have to cons. I’d go back to this restaurant if we come back!
The food here was wonderful, and stumbling upon a vegan menu on a walk through Nara was a rare treat! The vegan set was delicious and covered all the bases while still remaining filling and cost-effective. The manager/owner was even kind enough to give us a coin to wish us a happy new year as we paid and left, which was a sweet touch. It was a tiny bit difficult to communicate, understandably. The main issue we had was with average service as it took us a very long time to be served: while I was more relaxed, my partner almost got up and left due to the initial wait time as waiters walked past our table several times without taking orders or glancing towards us, while still helping other guests. After our orders were taken, however, we had few difficulties and enjoyed our food! My omni partner also enjoyed everything he ate, though the prices were a bit high.
For a delicious dinner after a day in the shops this place is a good option. the Vegan menu in the area on the top floor offers about 6 options.
This was a great find in Nara. I had no problem at all getting the vegan menu, there was a clearly visible stack of them right when we walked up the stairs and into the restaurant. I had the vegan lunch set which was delicious and filling. There are also numerous a la carte vegan options, but the set includes smaller (but still substantial) portions of almost all of them, so it’s perfect if you’re an indecisive orderer like me. Happy Cow states cash only, but they do take cards (there is a 5% surcharge though). My omnivore husband was really impressed with his non-vegan dishes as well. I wouldn’t call it cheap, but prices are reasonable by Japan standards, especially for the quality and portion size.
