I tried to make a reservation for the next day and after 20 hours I finally received a message that my request didn’t go through. So I tried to call the restaurant. And there are at least 4 different phone numbers I found for Matta depending on what site you looked on. And in no case did they have a recorded message about the restaurant or how to dial them directly. Just a generic “leave a message after the beep”. Well, they lost my business…. So inconvenient and uncaring. They certainly don’t seem anxious to succeed, do you think? My advice….get on Open Table or Resy and demonstrate a desire for customers. Geez!
Decided to try this small, quaint, new restaurant, located in a strip mall. So glad we did. Everyone was so friendly. Our server Mircea, from Italy, was awesome. We ordered the Proscuitto with melon appetizer, and he honestly explained to us that they were not comfortable serving the melon because it was not as fresh as they would prefer, and offered to put together a meat and cheese platter with no upcharge. He made us a delicious platter of meats and cheeses. So yummy. We order two different pasta dishes and a side of meatballs. Everything was fresh and delicious. I only wish I had remembered to take pictures of our dishes. Service was perfect. We will definitely be back.
We love Italian food. We dined here shortly after it opened under a new name. The hostess was completely upfront that it was no longer Trattoria Abruzzo, but we wanted to give it a try. Of course a new restaurant is going to have some hiccups. That written, the calamari appetizer was prepared wonderfully, although we prefer a kickier sauce. They told us if we tell them when ordering that they would be happy to kick up the sauce. My wife had the Bolognese and she felt it was good. I travel all over the country for work and I love pork chops. The bone in pork chop I had was the best chop I have ever had. It was outstanding. We will definitely return to give some other dishes a try. You should too. I think you’ll be pleased.
First of all, this is no longer trattoria Abruzzo nor is it casa Nostra We have been to this restaurant under both names but unfortunately the receptionist did not let us know that the name has changed and was under new management. Had we known this, we would have looked at the menu and decided against it.Unfortunately and sadly, this was probably the worst Italian restaurant we have ever gone to. The pasta is from a box the sauces are from a can the bread is from Publix and the waiter had an arrogant and absolutely rude attitude.I don’t think this place will make it. Try it for yourself but I would highly recommend against it. We asked for some additional wine which was poured into a glass that was already half full and the waiter said well that’s all because he had just finished the bottle. So incredibly ridiculous! We eat out 3 5 times a week and this restaurants food was less than marginal. So embarrassing to suggest to friends! The management could at least advise that it is new with a different menu that we preaaproved before making a reservation. Bait and switch, under minded and absolutely horrible food the wine was terrible too!!!! Would never go back.
In the past 6 months, this restaurant has moved up the ladder from good to excellent . The food is expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The wait staff is competent and personable. Bravo!
