The only reason why this wasn't a 5 star review was the prices. While the food was delicious, the experience wasn't transcendental. You want a meal in this price category to be something to brag about, and the meal didn't do that. While definitely worth the visit and a repeat, it's missing something to make it a truly 5 star experience.
Those 3 stars are for the service, which was professional and caring. But I was disappointed with the food, which I found overpriced for what was offered. The Mediterranean salad, delightfully described in the menu, was no more than a small dinner plate of greens with a few black olives. The appetizer, which spoke of escargot? Well, I think I missed that ingredient entirely. The coq au vin, while tasty, wasn't special enough for $22. All in all, they need to upgrade their dishes to lure me back! Sorry, Kismet. I'm back to Roots.
The experience is in the food, the quality of the presentation and great service make this place a favorite.
Good food without the pretension. This is a four star experience in the Fingerlakes Region. Most of the menu items are locally sourced and prepared with a passion that comes through in the food. Make the journey to visit this restaurant, you won't be disappointed!
Folks who love food recommended Kismet to us for months. You 've got to try it. It 's really good. As good as New York. Having lived in NYC for many years, we were skeptical. Well it 's really good! The owners know how to make diners feel welcome in their intimate bistro and their chef knows the way to diners ' hearts. The food is inventive yet tasty; no frothy efforts or over the top concoctions. The owners combine a polished professionalism with small town charm. A great addition to Naples and worth the trip if you live in the area.
