We stopped by for a Japanese whiskey and dinner pairing. Star of the show was a $900 bottle of yamazaki 18-year. to say that we were impressed with the overall experience is a massive understatement. Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed the event. The head distiller gave us tasting notes and reasons for pairings. The bar staff were extremely knowledgeable (We ordered a couple more drinks to go along with our dinner) and the staff was ridiculously friendly. It all felt so genuine and not forced at all. This was our first time coming to holler horn, and it certainly will not be our last. Besides the dinner, they have a ton of house made distillates that are pretty tough to find from major producers, and the prices are very reasonable. We left with a couple of bottles of bitters and some of their smoked maple distillate. If you have not yet paid them a visit please do so. See the pictures from our dinner.
First time visiting off a recommendation from folks in Canadice Lake. As veterans of the hospitality industry we were impressed with the level of awareness and cleanliness that went into maintaining a safe and engaging environment during these trying times. The staff were attentive, cheerful and thorough. The dining spaces were lovely with great ambience inside and sweet views outside. We hadn't eaten out in awhile (obvious reasons) and ordered a variety of seasonal vegetarian options: Potato tostones, b&b board, grilled vegetarian sandwich and cold soba salad. We were delighted with all of them! I think folks with any diet preference will be happy. We also brought home some bourbon barrel-aged maple syrup that is oh so dang good over waffles and stirred into coffee. We will definitely be back.
We stopped in here after some light hiking for a drink. They have an excellent selection of local beer, wine and spirits and many other craft choices as well as the classics. We enjoyed some drinks and took advantage of the pool table and nice seating. The staff was friendly and knowledge.
It's been a bit more than two years since I was on the grounds and could visit this incredible place. When I saw the fire, I knew I wanted to leave a note of encouragement and send good wishes for reconstruction. Visiting your distillery was a highlight of a trip with friends we still mention and remember today. Standing on the balcony, drinking spirits on a cold day with friends and family is a reminder that we are so happy to restore when you reopen and run. Thanks for building and rebuilding such a special place. I can't wait to visit again!
