Elephant Hill - Napier

This winery was beautifully designed, with palm trees welcoming us as we drove up to the entrance. We didn’t have a reservation for a wine tasting, but a lovely woman working there (apologies for forgetting your name) accommodated us. She was very knowledgeable about wines and clearly passionate about her job. We spent about two hours sampling several glasses of wine, as we were the only customers that day. She made us feel very comfortable and was easy to talk to. I’m so glad we discovered this winery, and I hope they reopen their restaurant soon!

We visited for a wine tasting, and it was an incredible experience! We opted for the premium tasting package, and our host, Lee, was outstanding. He provided us with a selection of excellent wines, and we had a wonderful time! By the end of our visit, we ended up purchasing 8 bottles, and it was definitely worth the investment! We highly recommend spending an afternoon here to enjoy some top-notch wine and service!

We initially believed that Elephant Hill was primarily known for its stunning views and the posts by Instagram influencers, but we were pleasantly surprised. The entire wine tasting experience was delightful. The staff were both professional and knowledgeable. We really appreciated their Chardonnays, which were distinct, complex, and full of layers of flavor. The red wines were nice as well, though not our top choice. The scenery was also beautiful. Be sure to book in advance. Highly recommended!

Incredible good tasting. Perfect vineyard and ocean view mix. Awesome and very personal recommendations by Tom. All worth it to take a flight and buy some. Book in advance, as they are busy for good reasons.

Lovely place! Made a booking in advance for 3pm but were running late, and they were more than accommodating. It was a slow day, so they let us sit anywhere, and what was going to be four pours ended up being about nine because they had extra opened product. The wine was amazing and the view was spectacular. We bought two bottles and our server comped the tasting for us! And he even gave us the rest of the bottle of Hieronymus we’d sampled earlier. The service was incredible from start to finish, and I’m so glad we decided to drive out there. Can’t recommend this place highly enough if you’re looking for a place to stop and explore the local wine.
