I tried to make this my go to food place to stock up but the prices and quality of food is just not there, too expensive as well, I tried crepes the taste was so bad..I could not believe how bad it was and charged an arm and a leg for, I bought borschts to go, not a single piece of meat in any of them and the price was over $60 for a few plastic cups.. I just don't get it.. single piece of samsa is $6 as well.
The wide Eurasian selection and the food quality are 5 stars very flavorful. Many items are also quite unique for instance, appetizers such as pirogis and samsas which spread from Central Asia south to SouthAsia/East Africa (samosas/sambusa) and Eastern Europe (pyrogyis). Or the Morkovcha Russian/Central Asian version of the Korean carrot salad. Contemplating the wide variety, one sees familiar flavors from Eastern Europe/Mediyterranean to the Far East it does feel like a history lesson. Maybe thats why, just as other reviewers indicate, the price is a bit on the higher side. Worth it, but hopefully someday the food wil get more popular, thus bringing prices into the Central Asian streetfood level.
The food is very delicious but 7 dollars for 1 samsa and 15 dollar for 1 lb of plov comon its too much expensive in DC the prices was reasonable but over that the staff are very nice thx
