Shake Shack First National Building Downtown Detroit

This was my first experience at the restaurant, and it was a positive one. My whole family enjoyed the burgers, which were quite tasty, and the staff was very friendly, assisting me in choosing from the menu. However, I found it to be a bit pricey for four burgers and a side of fries.

I frequently encounter issues when ordering from this location on Route 59. The young woman at the counter appeared to intentionally ignore my attempts to place an order, leaving me no choice but to use the kiosk myself. Isn’t providing good customer service part of your job? It's disappointing that you seem reluctant to embrace your responsibilities. I won’t be coming back to this location. I hope you understand that your attitude may be pushing customers away, and when the business suffers, so do you. Best of luck moving forward.

I rushed back, living only about 10 minutes away, and upon arrival, I asked for a complete remake of my order. Unfortunately, the staff member I dealt with was unhelpful and quite rude. I didn’t want to have to deal with her negativity; all I wanted was what I had paid for. When she finally handed over my corrected order, her attitude hadn't improved. After that experience, I've decided that was my last visit to the restaurant. I haven't returned since that incident in April 2021, and I don't plan to. To make matters worse, the place had an unpleasant odor, reminiscent of a nursing home. I would much rather go to Shake Shack on Route 17, where I always have a much better experience with fresher and tastier food—without any of those unpleasant smells.

With so many burger options available nowadays, restaurants really need to either elevate their quality or offer better value to differentiate themselves. I'm not convinced that the quality here is substantially better than what you would get at a diner, though it is certainly better than McDonald's. They could improve by offering hand-cut fries and some value meal options. Overall, I wasn't very impressed—it doesn't quite measure up to Fuddruckers.

This was the worst Shake Shack experience I've ever had. The burger was excessively greasy and overcooked, while the bun was soggy. The beer can was dirty, and the cheese on the cheese fries had solidified and was barely warm. There was so much cheese that it made the fries a mushy mess, making them difficult to eat. In the end, I ended up discarding most of the food.
