Noodlebox - Nanaimo

I have been a fan of Noodlebox well before they opened in Nanaimo, and this one is a hit and miss. The other night was one of the misses, one that I wish I had missed, for some reason, the noodles were lacking and I think they tried to bulk it out with bean sprouts.The Langford one is one of my favourites, and probably the one I set the standard to, this location seems to be loosing ground with time.

Noodlebox is delicious! I love stopping in when I'm in town. I usually get the spicy peanut noodle box and it's so big that I can get 2 meals out of it. Will definitely continue to eat here.

This is a chain, but a well-organized one. There is a myriad of items from which to choose, vegetarian, fish or meat, and many different types of noodles and sauces. You sit at long communal tables and your order is brought over. I liked the on-tap free of charge sparkling water.

Paid extra for carb free cam pain jungle curry, with chicken.... No chicken and the bowl was soupier than the Tom Yum Soup. I guess you pay extra to keep the noodles out. When I complained staff spoke down to me and said it was supposed to look like soup. When I said I understood it was a wet curry but I never had it that soupy before she said it was made wrong. Not going back.

Eleven of us spur of the moment on a Thursday night popped in for supper. Sat at a long table informal with other customers. Friendly bunch. They have a BLONDE beer made in Tofino I think. Smooth! Most of us had either the curry red or the garlic black bean sauce chicken and noodles. All fresh with big servings. Service was not too long considering eleven at once. You order at desk and pay Then they call your name when ready. So kind of cafeteria style Makes for fun informal night. Get to meet a few strangers doing same thing!
