The restaurant is spacious and the service from the staff is good. I will definitely visit again. I went on a weekend and had to wait for about 20 minutes. This time, I tried the maze soba with no onions or garlic. The noodles were chewy and tasty. I added cheese and spicy miso toppings, but the spicy miso made it too salty and gave me a headache, so I'll skip it next time. The cheese topping was just right! It's great that you can customize the flavor with items like sansho pepper, sansho oil, and mayonnaise, but this time I had it as is and it was delicious enough. The complimentary extra rice is a nice touch! The regular size portion is enough to fill up a woman, while the large size should satisfy a man's appetite. My companion had the maze soba with onions and garlic, and just being near them made me smell quite pungent, so it might be better to skip those ingredients when eating during work hours haha After that, my companion had a case of breath mints but the smell still lingered... One thing that bothered me was the restroom's trash bin. It was too small and overflowing with used hand towels. I think it would be better to have a larger bin.
A popular local restaurant. Arrived 10 minutes before opening and there were already about 5 people waiting in line. However, the staff quickly moved and we were served our bowls in no time after the opening. You order directly instead of purchasing a meal ticket. I had the Toratora Soba Shoyu (¥850) with straight noodles. It seems you can choose between straight thin noodles or hand-kneaded curly noodles. The taste was as delicious as its reputation. The soup was just right with the noodles. The soup alone was slightly salty. The price is reasonable, and with two large slices of chashu, I felt satisfied. Not something that will become a special addiction, but overall it was a high-level ramen experience.
I haven't had much experience with dried fish broth, so I avoided it and ordered the Toraten soba with chicken broth, soy sauce flavor, and hand-kneaded noodles, cooked al dente. It was served promptly, and the first sip of soup had a strong oily taste with soy sauce flavor, I felt. However, it was delicious afterwards. The saltiness was strong, the bamboo shoots were long, and the red-colored chashu was thickly sliced which made it feel tough. I prefer softer chashu, so it would be nice if there was an option to choose. I like curly noodles, so it was great to be able to choose the type of noodle. The service was also good. My companion had the Toraten soba with salt, but again, the saltiness was strong. We shared a plate of gyoza, but the size was small.
