While I typically enjoy having chai from a street vendor, the hot weather prompted me to seek out a café to sit and relax. The Smile Café caught my eye with its inviting atmosphere and cleanliness, so we decided to give it a try. Despite being a tourist hotspot for those visiting from Pune and Bombay, the quality of the restaurants and cafes in Panchgani is above average. We had a delicious chai and some of the daily specials, and it made for a wonderful afternoon.
Panchgani is a melting pot of various trades, but most notably known for its abundance of food options. Normally, I would have my chai (a milk and spice tea) on the street, but on this hot day, I decided to enjoy it in the comfort of a cafe called The Smiling Coffee. The cafe had a great atmosphere and was very clean, making it stand out among other coffee shops in India. Despite the heavy tourism in the city, the restaurants and cafes in Panchgani are of a higher standard than average. I thoroughly enjoyed my delicious chai and some daily specials as I sat back and soaked in the wonder of the afternoon.
