Japanese Dining Goen - Nagano

Goen is one of the best restaurants in Yudanaka. Delicious fish, rams, drinks and dessert. Located right next to the train station, it is central and easy to reach. I especially enjoyed the salmon sashimi and the coffee jelly parfait

Great place near the train station, probably the best around. You have a wide selection of Japanese food so everyone should like it. The interior is modern and spacious for Japanese standards. You also have a free parking approx. 70m away (be so careful). The staff speaks very good English and everyone is friendly, so it was easy to order and enjoy the good food. (Tempura was excellent)

Amazing staff, so helpful and they spoke great English! Sushi and mixed grill for me and fish salad for my guest. Price was good for quality. Amazing work!

The food was amazing and the prices were decent. Their English was pretty decent. If you're passing through Yudanaka, I highly recommend this place. Also, be sure to try the Matcha Latte. It's pretty addicting.

The Yakitori was yummy, especially the chicken thigh and apple wrapped with pork. The soba was great as well. Had both hot and cold soba. The cold one has a nice dipping sauce, while the hot one has a tasty fish broth. I would highly recommend for those coming back from the Snow Monkey Park. Convenient location, right next to Yudanaka station. Can just simple dine and jump on the train right after. Also, there is a street nearby with stunning lookouts to the mountains.
