Fjordkroen - Naestved

Had accommodation with dining and breakfast. The conditional on the food must be said to be above conditional genre. The service from the host couple was in the top and rooms with direct views to the fjord was clean and welcoming.

Large potions, good quality food, but you also pay for it, the prices are quite high on mark with expensive Copenhagen restaurants. The waiters are old school and witty, but competent and efficient.

We were 4 people, ordered soup for starter, it does not become great soup because you add a liter of cream, I actually could not eat it, but my husband liked it. We then had 2 fishfillets stuffed with salmon..... absolutely dead boring, boiled fish, big lumps, no thank you, vegetables with it were lovely. One of us had an entrecote and was very happy with it, the 4th person had the lobstertails, again, adding way too much cream does not make food great! All in all, very disappointing!

We know Fjordkroen from previous, and enjoy to come here. We can recommend it for casual gatherings, parties and business dinners. Very Danish and so much out in the countryside beautifully situated at Præstø Fjord. The service was very good, the only thing we can point a finger at, and which some of our guests noticed too was it took to long time to serve the various courses for 15 guests, the food got a bit cold before everyone had their serve! Not good needs to be improved. So for that reason we give 3 stars and not 4 stars as we would have liked to for the service. Sorry. The chef should have had 5 stars from us, but as we don 't know if it was the Chef or the waiters it took to long time to bring in the serves faster that was done, we give the kitchen 4 stars. The food was very, very tasteful and well presented thank you so much. It looked tempting when it was served, and one looked forward to taste all three courses. We had: Hvidvinsdampet hummerhaler Helstegt kalvemørbrad and Hjemmebagt nøddekurv very, very nice. Which we can only recommend to other guests. The wine did match the food, and nice recommendations from the owner Henrik. It was a good experience having the contact with Fjordkroen before our dinner for 15 people family and friends. We were two couples staying here for 3 nights and had breakfast and dinner each day. The rooms were quite small, but nice, with a nice but small bathroom. Each room had a terrasse with a view to the fjord and the garden. Arrival and parking was very easy. The breakfast was good, the dinner is for the big eaters, I would say the portions are too big, and the meal heavy. I also tried a veggie disk with a broccoli tart, this was of a nice size and very good, but in my opinion too expensive.
