I visited this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation, and I'm so glad I did. It was an excellent choice! There are plenty of Tex-Mex places out there, but many of them don't quite hit the mark. This one, however, truly stands out. Their lunch menu is fantastic and arguably the most reasonably priced we've encountered in a long time. The only drawback was the salsa served with the chips, which was a bit too watery and spicy for our liking.
I used to really enjoy this restaurant, but my recent visit was a disappointment, especially since I had recommended it to friends and brought a group with me. For starters, the air conditioning seemed to be broken, as it felt like 90 degrees during both of my last two visits. We ended up waiting almost an hour because they gave our table away. My order got overlooked, and when it finally arrived, the cheese was spoiled and it was inedible. They did comp my order, but overall, it was not a good experience. I hate saying this because their salsa is the best in town and I typically love this place.
I just had one of the best meal experiences in my life. I ordered the Cancun which was grilled fish topped with shrimp and crawfish in a creamy sauce. It was divine! It was served with Spanish rice and charro beans. The charro beans were delicious and cooked perfectly! My server, Josh, was very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed to enjoy my meal. Upon arrival, the chips were served warm and the salsa was fresh. The iced tea was so fresh and thirst quenching also. The pricing was very reasonable for what I ordered too. For my first time eating at Sombrero’s, there isn’t anything that could have been improved! I will definitely return and bring people with me! I can’t wait to try everything else on the menu! Thank you!
This little gem on the main drag in Nacogdoches has a good menu of traditional and fusion Mexican food. The atmosphere is fun and light and colorful yet tasteful. The drinks are great, the salsa is warm and the seafood has been good every time. Great for date night or save money on the lunch menu with the whole family after church. Solid bet for your meal on the town.
