Pupuseria El Pampero - Nacogdoches

This is a fantastic and authentic restaurant that makes you feel right at home. The jalapeño poppers are amazing, and the pupusas are equally incredible.

El Pampero deserves five stars, not because it's the most picturesque restaurant in the city, but because it offers exceptional value. The pupusas are excellent, as are the burritos and tacos. I especially appreciate being able to enjoy a meal in a private room.

Wow. At first glance, it looks like just another small, unassuming Hispanic kitchen, but it's far from that. The quality of the food and the pride in its preparation are truly exceptional. A brief look into the kitchen reveals a level of cleanliness and order that I haven't encountered before (and I see a lot of kitchens). Salvadoran cuisine is a bit different from Mexican, but it's familiar enough to feel approachable rather than overly exotic. With milder spices compared to Mexican dishes, the East Texas palate is sure to appreciate it. I'm definitely coming back!

The pupusas come from piping hot and the fiets are delicious. I love everyone who has spinach in them. Service is good and they are really friendly. I must love good cheap food.

I decided to try this place because we were visiting from out of town and I wanted a quality experience that would be unique to Nacogdoches. Boy did we find it. This is just unlike anything you've ever had. The banana chips and salsa were really unique and delicious. The pupusas were excellent. The environment was clean and the staff was nice. Great job!
