First the good... I had a slice of pizza that was pretty good. Nice tang to the sauce, just the right amount of cheese and zero flop with a good crunch. I give the pizza a 7.9, maybe higher if i ordered a whole pie and ate it there. Also ordered some cold cuts to go. Sweet capicola which was appropriately thin and has a good flavor. I did not see the brand but most of what I saw there was Boar's Head. I also ordered one of my favorite meats, the king of sausage, mortadella. Let me say that i typically love Boar's Head but the mortadella is standard cold cut size, maybe five of six inches wide instead of the traditional size of 16 inches across. The color was also a touch darker than what we would see from a real mortadella. Now, Toffino claims to be the real deal so I asked the woman behind the counter why they would skimp in something so important and she said, don't as me I just work here. Well maybe the dessert will save them... two classics, Sfogliatella and Pasticciotto with a pastry crème filling. They were both better than fair but fell short of being spectacular. The pasticciotto's filling was too dense, not bad but it should be a bit lighter and sweeter. The sfogliatella was better but the shell was a bit tough. I have had worse, far worse. Toffino's is a bit a drive for me to get to and based on my first experience, I think it will be a while before I go back. The search continues.
Not what I call an Italian pastry! Very disappointing filling in my Lobster tail. Don't know what so many people are crazy about? Guess when you use to Auther Ave Italian is never the same!
Very nice bakery! We got a few items and loved it! Quick service and friendly staff! The cookies and cream puff were delicious!!
I've had multiple items here. Lobster tail, chocolate explosion, peanut butter with chocolate dessert, and a few other things. I've loved all of their bakery items. We ordered a custom pizza, basically a Hawaiian with mushrooms and it was KILLER. Probably my favorite pizza since we moved here. The crust was a thinner crust and had great flavor. They charge $1.50 for each topping which is kinda steep for the amount of toppings they give you. I understand why they don't pile the toppings on because the crust couldn't take a lot of toppings. The tomato sauce was sooooo good and the cheese was too. I'd still pay the $1.50 for the light amount of toppings to get the pizza I want. I'll be ordering pizzas from here any time I'm craving pizza. This place always smells good when we walk through to get pastries. I want to try more of their dinner items!
Review is only for the pastries!! HANDS DOWN THE BESTTTT. We got the chocolate mousse roll, strawberry cake and key lime pie! ALL WERE EXCEPTIONAL That is all..
