Hornback's Shawnee - Muskogee

The food was fantastic. The Hamburger Streak dinner ordered the pork chop dinner, and it was boiled great, was hot, and potatoes smeared were also good. I can't say anything bad!!

Ian and I stayed overnight in Muskogee, and this morning we didn't like to see the breakfast Hamptons, so we met Hornbacks as it was very close. Ian got sausage, egg and cheese biscuits and hash brown. He liked everything, but his only complaint was that the cookie was so crooked that it needed a structural integrity field to keep it together. I had two eggs over light, ham (and it was a huge piece of ham!, grits, and cookies and gravy. The eggs were good, the ham excellent, I think, smoked, and very tasty. I liked the engraving especially. The cookie was a little crumbling, but went well with the severity.

Really like this old-fashioned diner! Great breakfast food all day. The caves are true southern style. The service is very good and the cherry cobbler is delicious.

After having a nice breakfast here, my husband and I decided to try them for dinner tonight. Service was excellent as last time, and the burgers we both enjoyed were excellent! A place you shouldn't miss!

Classic diner. Nice little spot where the locals hang out. Breakfast all day, standard burgers, blueplate lunches. The folks are friendly, the service is good and the prices are nice. I had a good chef's salad and coffee and everything else I saw looked good. Sure beats fast food!
