On Sunday afternoon we drove back to Murrells Inlet and visited one of the many restaurants that host the Marshwalk. Rustic, lively fish storage with open beam ceiling, fully equipped bar, fireplace, live music and an open terrace overlooking the island of Inlet and Goat. It is really an extended veranda of J Peter's Grill and Bar next door, as menu and food come from there and named after local folk hero Bubba Love. (See the life-size statue from the front. Selective menu of shareables, soups and salads, sandwiches and seafood, steaks, chicken and ribs. Always a seafood connoisseur when visiting the entrance, I decided to try her homeburger. A thick, handmade patty with all fresh paws of salad and tomatoes, pickles, cheese at an additional cost and a good portion of seasoned frits. Burger was juicy, more than I could eat and reasonable prices. Loved the open concept as a steady breeze and overhead fans kept the air moving and the sights and sounds of the inlet and the live goats on the island played right in front of you. Eating was slow to come as you not only sit on the veranda with brothers, but all sitting inside. But the service was friendly, the day was nice and the food was commendable.
If you're a Bubba fan? Love Shack of the Past, Beware!! They only serve the J Petters Menu. I was super disappointed that they didn't have their bubba? Menu. My family LOVED comes here because of the relaxing atmosphere and amazing foods that were different. J Peters in the relaxing atmosphere. What's not bad, are we just coming to Bubba? Love Shack.
Mistakenly stumbled into this place, and it was a great experience. The food was good, Live Band was phenomenal, and service was excellent. I would recommend going on a cooler day as all seats are open, but the fans help keep it comfortable. I'll go back 100% if I'm in the area.
Being a chef for 17 years I can announce that this was the best French Dip I ever had let alone made! Oh, and the She-Crab soup was pretty awesome too!
