He's quite supportive of this food review thing I have going on so lemme say, I'm quite the lucky gal. Hehehe Tonight, we had dinner at The Rib Shack. The first comment we had was about the place, being quite hidden from the usual Aquirre and President's Avenue establishments. We still went inside and found the place quite tastefully done. There is a casual vibe in the place that encourages you to stay and eat and just enjoy. I love the brick wall accents, the wooden pallet theme, and yes even the industrial-looking sheet iron wall that marks the start of their kitchen area. The customized yellow light bulbs give off a certain firefly glow that's comforting. Service was fast, the staff was certainly attentive and cheerful. The boo liked their playlist, so that's a unique plus point for the place. We had the In a Relationship Rib plate, named as such because it comes with two side dishes and is perfect for couples. There's also a Single (solo plate that comes with a side dish and rice) and It's Complicated, their biggest slab, good for 3 to 4 people. We also ordered Half of the Cajun Chicken and chose Garlic Potato Balls, Butter Garlic Creamy Spinach, and Mashed Potatoes as our sides. The ribs were perfect, they easily give way even wihout using a knife and every morsel I take is as tasty as the last one. Every bite is coated with their signature sauce, and there is a good enough amount of heat that will make you want to eat rice. The Cajun Chicken was equally tasty, not overcooked and effortless to eat. I personally enjoyed it dipped in the ranch dressing they have. It made the flavors more balanced and whole. It was a pleasant surprise to find their mashed potatoes were topped with parmesan. You know me, anything is better when there's cheese! The creamy garlic sauce of the spinach was also on point, although I am not really a fan of spinach. But the good thing is, this side dish made me try it! The gralic potato balls were seasoned with a lot of rosemary, which might fair even better when you're eating this with the chicken. The Rib Shack is designed with hearty eaters in mind. I kmew we picked the right restaurant tonight when the boo tipped the staff a bit more than usual. That's one more new restaurant off our list, a few more and we'll be food royalties on our street! Haha

We already had misgivings when the swarming waiters inside wouldn't even come out to offer umbrellas so we can alight from the car. They just all looked at us and carried on chatting. Yes it was a rainy evening when we decided to drop by. And yes there were umbrellas right outside the door. The place was empty except for the whole staff chatting. We were the first customers to come in for the evening yet the trio who came in after us were given the menu and were assisted first, and yes, were served with their food of course :/ When we were finally served the food, it was so fast that I couldn't believe the waitstaff was already serving our ribs! Then I realized why when the aroma rose to my nose and when I looked at it: the food wasn't freshly prepared! It was as if the slab of ribs was a left over this morning that they just threw in the microwave to reheat then voila! And so we're the side dishes that came with it! The soup was terrible! The waiter said it was a seafood chowder but according to my simple tastebud it was a corn soup mixed with a clam chowder in can, ugh! The mashed potato was reheated too! The coleslaw was overloaded with mayo. That evening I had the runs despite us not finishing our meal :/ The plus point of this place is the strong wifi, spacious area that would give you a lot of elbow room but the seats are too high while the table is too low, so you're literally hunched over your food while your feet are hanging off the floor (I'm not that tiny). Good parking place.

Been here twice already for the past month. I love their ribs! Just the right amount tenderness but not too overcooked. A little saucy on the side but it's fine. Buffalo wings is also a must try. I just feel like there's too much sauce on it. Interiors are very cozy. Attentive staffs. I give them 4.5
