Ben Wong's Restaurant

Just blew through town and didn't feel like Subway.

This has been our go-to Chinese restaurant since it opened. We loved the food from the start,but that pales in comparison with the welcome that Jody (front of house) and Ben (chef) extended to our entire family from day one! They have opened their arms to everyone who has walked in the door. They are a wonderful additional to the Crowsnest Pass.

The service here is always very pleasant and the restaurant decor is decent. The chicken fried rice and the sweet & sour sauce are the best we've had anywhere. The deep fried shrimp was tasty but was mainly batter, so we never ordered it again. We have been ordering the deep fried chicken balls and found them tasty. However, on our last visit, we found that they too were heavily battered with a small piece of chicken in the center. Now we don't know if that's always been the case and we didn't notice it, or if they were just heavily battered on our last visit. Hopefully they make some improvements here. We haven't found another Chinese food restaurant nearby that we enjoy, so we will continue to dine here.

Large menu, good selection, good food, good service, reasonably priced. Great atmosphere. Will return and try the smorgasbord

We just stayed in Blairmore between Feb 6th to 13th and ordered from Ben Wong Restaurant. We are from Calgary and were not expecting this Chinese to be even better than the restaurants near us at home. I was totally wrong in assuming that this Chinese wouldn't be as good ... and I apologize for that.The food was excellent, every dish we had was perfect and very large portions. The ginger beef was excellent and the sauce had a nice kick to it without being to spicy or to sweet. The vegetable fried rice was amazing and so was the beef in black bean sauce. My only regret is that we tried this food the night before we left to go home, we would of ordered again from here.
