They offer some of the best Thai food in the area. We love their hot and spicy tofu curry dishes. They could improve on their vegetarian options as they currently only offer meat in their rolls. However, this is our second favorite Thai restaurant in Muncie and it is definitely worth a visit, especially for those near the campus. We have always received good service and enjoyed our meals there.
I absolutely love Thai Smiles because of the many options available! Most of their dishes can be made with tofu or shrimp. My personal favorites are the green curry (with a milder taste) and the garlic and black pepper dish (I like to add ginger to it). The tofu is cooked as a block, then cut into cubes so that four of the six sides are browned and crunchy, but it still absorbs the flavors of the dish well. The staff at Thai Smiles are very accommodating, making it easy to customize rice and noodle dishes to your liking. Unfortunately, they do not have a vegan option for tom yum soup and not all entrees can be made vegan.
This restaurant is casual enough for solo dining, but elegant enough for a prom group. It is always busy, which is a sign of how great it is.
Thai Smile 2 is the sister restaurant to Thai Smile in Frankfort, Kentucky, and has been a part of the Muncie community for over 15 years. They are known for offering some of the best Thai food in the area, especially their curry dishes, noodle dishes, and hot and spicy tofu. However, they do fall short when it comes to their spring rolls as they only serve ones with meat in them. Additionally, their lunch soup contains chicken stock. They make up for these shortcomings by providing extra fried spring rolls. It would be great if they offered non-meat spring rolls. Despite these minor issues, Thai Smile 2 is our second favorite Thai restaurant in Muncie and definitely worth a visit, especially if you are near the Ball State University campus. The service and food quality have always been good whenever we have dined there.
I love Thai Smile because they offer a wide variety of options. Many of their dishes can be made with tofu or vegetables. My favorite dishes are the milder green curry and the garlic and black pepper entree (I like to add ginger to it). The tofu is cooked in a block and then cut into rectangles, with four sides browned and crisp, soaking in the flavors of the dish. It's easy to order their rice and noodle dishes without egg, as they are very accommodating. However, there is no vegan Tom Yum option and some dishes cannot be made vegan.
