Concannon's Pastry Shop - Muncie

Warning! Entering the premises and seeing all the delicious looking pastries may be hazardous to your self control! I knew I was in trouble when I saw the row after row of brightly colored packaged pastries (90% of items are made in house. On the far end were samples of cakes that had been decorated. And what finally broke down my resistance was the row of display cases that ran the length of the building with donuts, coffee cakes, pies, cupcakes, and just about anything you would like (and more! I gathered a bit of self restraint and selected four large pieces to go including an apple fritter, a cinnamon twist, a cream stuffed chocolate long john, and a pecan caramel swirl. I was feeling pretty good thinking I only got four and that maybe some would make it home for my wife to share. And then I went to pay. I was in shock! I couldn't believe these four large, gleaming, tasty pasties were only $5! I've paid more for a single pastry in some shops. Wow! I wandered out to my car in the parking lot feeling like I had gotten away with a lucky break and hoped they didn't come running out after me saying it was a mistake. Nobody chased. Love this place, this place is just the best. No other words but what I said. Lots of chocolates, donuts, coffee, sandwiches, cakes, cupcakes...great for gifting or satisfying your sweet tooth!

OMG!! The best bakery I have been to in the Midwest, hands down. Cookies, cakes, pies, breads, chocolates, flavored popcorn, sandwiches, coffee, smoothies... the list goes on! All of it heavenly! All you have to do is drop in and see for yourself, you don't even have to go in wanting to buy something, you will leave with something anyways! The donuts are head over heals better than a place like Dunkin Donuts. Tonight we stopped in to buy a Boston Creme Cake and it is giving me a pastrygasm!! If you eat anywhere in Muncie, eat at Concannon's!! Oh, I almost forgot to mention that prices are unbelievably low. A cake for $7; normally you would pay $6 for a slice of a gourmet cake like this in a restaurant- so $7 for a delicious cake is awesome.

We've always been a fan of Concannon's, but the last few times we've been there, the donuts have been even better than usual. They're not heavy or dense at all! I could go in there and just order their chocolate frosting and I spoon. I don't even really need the spoon.

Best donuts in Indiana or at least Muncie! Delicious pies and snacks too. Whenever we come to visit family in the area, I make it a point to get a dozen donuts before leaving. It's a good way to thank the inlaws and satisfies my craving for classic yeast donuts. Always fresh donuts whenever I've been in and the folks behind the register are nice. The price is really good too. Concannons puts the national chains to shame.
