There are two outlets at this location, one of which I am reviewing and the other is a cafe called 'Pali Cafe,' which I plan to visit soon. When we arrived, the restaurant was full and we had to wait for a table to become available. I appreciated that they provided menus while we waited so we could order as soon as we were seated. I recommend trying the Kala Khatta if you don't drink alcohol. Personally, I ordered a beer and the Banana leaf Baked fish. While Bengalis have a similar dish of Bhetki baked with Mustard, this one was Red snapper baked with a green chutney made of coriander, yogurt, and chili. It was delicious and the portion size was generous. The fish is meant to be shared between two people as it comes with three pieces wrapped in a banana leaf. We also tried a unique and tasty vegetarian dish called Besan Palak Kofta with Choora Paratha. The gravy had a rich mixture of gram flour, cashews, and tomato paste, while the Kofta was made with spinach. It was one of the best Kofta dishes I've ever had. The staff was attentive and helpful, and I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
I absolutely adored the ambiance and decor of this restaurant. It has a charming, old-world, and classy feel with soft lighting and wooden furniture. The starters and main course were delicious, and the mocktails were excellent. The service was quick and personalized. It is advisable to book in advance as it gets crowded even on weekdays.
This restaurant is a beautiful place with delicious food. We were the only customers on a weekday, so we had the place to ourselves. The atmosphere is very antique, but don't be fooled - the restaurant was actually opened in 2012. We ordered mashed mushrooms, crispy bombil, laal maas, and Alepey fish. All the dishes were excellent, with the fish dishes being particularly juicy and delicate. The laal maas, while tasty, lacked the hearty flavor one would expect from a bone broth curry. The server mentioned they slowly cook the meat in the curry, but I suspect they may cook it separately and add it to the curry later. Overall, we were very pleased with the restaurant, although it can be a bit difficult to find as there are no signs indicating its location.
This restaurant is fantastic! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is excellent. I enjoyed my experience and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful dining experience with fresh and tasty food.
I absolutely adored the atmosphere and décor of this restaurant. It has a charming old and classic feel with soft lighting and wooden furniture. Both the starter and main course were delicious and well-prepared. The service was fast and personalized. I recommend making a reservation in advance as it gets quite busy, even on weekdays.
