This restaurant is amazing! The owner is very friendly and I highly recommend it.
Accommodation at the Lake Mulwala Hotel/Motel was reasonably priced in comparison to its competitors and I couldn 't really fault it on value for money. The lake was a one minute walk away across the carpark. There is also the Purtle Park Adventure Playground 5-10 minutes ' walk up the road that was one of the more exciting playgrounds I 've seen. Lakefront barbeques are also available at this park. Heading 5-10 minutes by foot in the other direction from the hotel, you will find the popular Mulwala Bakery, as well as the Royal Mail Hotel that had some OK lunch specials when I visited. My room was clean and had decent amenities, pretty much all you 'd expect in a motel. Air conditioning, TV, fridge, ironing equipment, toaster, kettle etc. I didn 't like the liquid soap however (one of my pet hates at hotels), which doubled as hand wash, shampoo and dishwashing liquid. I guess it saves money, but providing a couple of little bars of soap to guests, as well as proper shampoo in little bottles, surely wouldn 't break the bank? As a very light sleeper I don 't feel my request for a quiet room was met, as I was given a room near the driveway entrance on the bottom floor, so apart from the noise of people in the rooms above and next to me, plus their plumbing, I also had the noise of guests ' cars to contend with, as well as their walking around on the ground floor. The motel building is double storey, so if you don 't have issues going up stairs I would suggest considering one of the upstairs rooms. Whilst the service at reception was friendly and polite overall, I was taken aback when my request for a couple of extra 15mL containers of milk was denied. There were only 3 provided in the room, which is far from enough for making the provided instant coffee bearable enough to drink, and it was suggested that I could get milk from the servo up the road. I 've stayed in plenty of motels attached to pubs and never seen so little milk provided. What would happen if I liked milk in my tea as well?!?! This has led me to remove a star from my rating. I didn 't eat at the pub itself due to the prices being too high. They didn 't appear to have any lunch or daily specials either (you know, like Tuesday $20 steaks or similar). In conclusion, I know it 's not the Marriott and I feel I got good value overall and would stay there again, but there are certainly improvements that could be made. Noise insulation in the rooms and upping the level of guest amenities a touch would go a very long way to making this motel pretty good rather than just OK .
Stopped in for a quiet drink and nibbles but the food looked very good. Very nice outdoor area and good atmosphere.
Stopped in for lunch and a quick drink, the beers were cold and the CC’s were even colder..
