There are 2 or 3 old wooden benches I prefer, because at these thin plastic chairs of modern time in beautiful green or white I do not find the greatest favor. There are yellow plastic blankets and colorful seat cushions. On the tables there are small gasoline lamps that are illuminated before sunset. That was very imposing me. For a hiking or cycling holiday or at the end of the day you can probably come here and cook. The children's playground in the beer garden is also very beautiful. There are also foreign rooms here that I have not seen. There was a very tasty blood sausage with fried bacon cubes, sour cabbage and potatoes. The part was not big, but it was probably wounded. My friend ordered the oven or film potatoes with quark or yogurt gurke and salad. The large potato in aluminium foil sponge (Foil Set after the likely warming in the microwave) tasted very well. The quark was a bit. The salad from gurke, paprika and iceberg salad in a light yogurt dressing came quite sweet. There is a very extensive, very wide menu with many dishes that look like industrial prefabrication. The spaghetti Bolognese with grater cheese from the foil bag, which got the right look with dye and the waiter does not know whether it is even synthetic cheese. You should focus more on culinary art, crafts and quality than celebrating the amount of dishes on the menu. Some, perhaps weekly changing dishes, prepared in your own kitchen with style and taste and pleasure, cooked and dressed, increase the level considerably and increases the influx in this beautiful summer garden and the bright restaurant. But I would like to recommend the chestnut farm if you are looking for a pleasant rest, hungry or thirsty since. If you come here with the S-Bahn, drive from here on the (almost) closed track to the dam and the transfer of the S- and Fernbahn. The S-Bahn station is located at the right-hand station. Peter
A few years ago we went to the chestnut. The hearty German cuisine and the good price performance ratio have always promised us. Previously... After the last one, two visits were no longer the hit, last Sunday was actually our last visit to this restaurant. 1. Service Perhaps the two services were new apprentices. This would be the only explanation for the inattentive and slow service. We were 6 people and received only 2 menus. After 2 times of demand, the rest of the group also got a menu. Only three of six people received cutlery before eating. The rest of the group was given cutlery only on demand for the preservation of food! (same at the side table...and we sat outside.. annoying when the food gets cold). The request to bring a spoon was forgotten. 2. Food We had ordered various dishes. No one from the group was really excited. Roulade and liver were dry or tough. The potato pulp tasted strangely as if it had been stirred with water. The sprinkled sponge in the sauce (a spoon unfortunately did not give to help). There are only 2 stars, because the chestnut has fallen so well in the past and I have the hope that it will develop better again.
Unfortunately, Ms. Halle, the owner, has set up a mind check for your guests a few years ago, so that our club for Schnauzer and Pinscher has not used this restaurant anymore. It would certainly have been better for Ms. Halle not to get involved in the membership of our club presidents in a non-prohibited party (NPD) and to palatiate over an alleged ban on the guilt of which our chairman did not even know anything. The principle of hospitality should be: treating guests like guests, as long as they also act as guests. For years she was able to do this and also earned good money with our club until she was affected by the political correctness!!! Therefore we can no longer recommend this place
We stayed at Easter Sunday for a small coffee break in the garden of the Kastanienhof and we enjoyed it very well there. The service was friendly and flotted. Cappucchino and ice cups with fresh strawberries were delicious, only the strawberries still a little hard. Just back in Berlin, my sister notes that she had forgotten her phone there. No problem, the waiter had delivered it immediately at the counter and she got it unharmed again. If we're back in the area, we'll be sure to catch up and try something else there. In the idyllic garden under chestnuts you can definitely sit very well in beautiful weather.
We were in the chestnut farm today, I can only say the service was nice, fast and competent. The food was good and the price-performance ratio is very good. We are happy to return here!!
