Jin Mar Chinese Restaurant - MUDGEERABA

Under new ownership, different atmosphere, different taste to the food, less accommodating..... no longer my regular stop, food's still okay just needed to rethink my earlier review. We didn't dine in, it was takeaway.

Have purchased a lot of take away but this time we dined in. The food was excellent and served quickly and efficiently. The prices were good with softdrinks just $2 a can. The restaurant appears 'tied' and has a very traditional appearance but do not be fooled by the looks as it a great place for a quick and enjoyable meal. Highly recommended.

You would not think this little Chinese Cafe would have such great food. The shop decor is very ordinary and not really appealing, but it's the best chinese food I have tasted on the Gold Coast, everything I have tried from the menu is just perfect. They mostly cater to Take Aways but if you dine in, do have one of the banquets - its such good value. For two people its only $40; mixed entre, two main dishes, fried rice and banana fritters with ice cream. The service is lovely, family operated and the owner is always very attentive and makes you feel special (he has little English but you mange with conversation) and added bonus is its BYO, so dine in is a great option for good food at an affordable price. Highly recommend for take out or dine in.

Just as good if not better than the first time we visited.After watching the rugby on TV(go the canes) , I offered to take my friends to this restaurant. We were not disappointed great food, great service, great price.This place is not 5 star but the food is,please don`t judge a book by it`s cover !. We all had different dishes the pick for me once again was the Szechuan range of dishes (beef, chickens and pork) best on the gold coast!.Please go and see what I mean.

The Jin Mar has been in Mudgeeraba for years - and it looks it. But if you want awesome food, this is the place to be. I think it would be safe to say that the takeaway does better than the restaurant and all of the locals know it well.Fabulous prices, incredibly friendly staff and sensational food.
