Cracker Barrel - Mount Vernon

Breakfast was really good! Crispy Speck, delicious cookies, super sourded French toast. Appropriately expensive. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Clean restaurant. Family friendly atmosphere. Wonderful culinary experience.

We stopped on Sunday 4 July at 2:00. They were very busy. We've never seen a cracker barrel before. They had several seats. They had at least 21 servers, 3 greetings, 3 cashiers, several bus drivers and 3 managers. The service was fast and efficient. Everyone did every job. Managers were clearing tables. Servers were clearing and sweeping, etc. It was definitely a well oiled machine of the service. Breakfast wasn't quite normal. The cookies were light and fluffy. The engraving must have been microwave, since the small blue bowl was so hot, you could hardly touch it, but the engraving was only slightly warm. The eggs were cooked correctly, but tiny and cut into rectangles. The sugar ham was boiled to death, hard and dry. The bacon on a plate was crispy. The bacon on another plate was completely limp and nasty, although ordered crispy. Luckily it was replaced. The scrambled eggs with cheese were a flat, dry, viscous pancake with a piece of cheese that was melted at the top. The hashbrown caserole was very good. So, loss of 2 stars for inconsistent food. Plus of 2 stars for service over and over the expected and demonstration of teamwork under pressure. I am sure that the foods will come back consistently because they are not so lubricated.

Very friendly staff, from the time we entered on our server, and when we check out. The food was very good, my wife especially loved the warm syrup for the hot cakes. The grottos and cookies and engraving were great.

The food always great, as always the service there takes your order then takes 3/4 more tables that ends wrong and we were served after the other 3 tables, although we have our orders 1

It's your typical Cracker Barrel, Loaded with cute items, as well as delicious food. I had no issues here. The waitresses were all very friendly, the food was very good, the atmosphere was lively. Very good employees at this location. They definitely have it together here!
