Sumo Sushi Steak House - Mount Pleasant

I ordered a piña collar and we started with shumai as our appetizer. The drink was good, and the shrimp dumplings were perfectly sized for sharing, getting our taste buds excited for what was to come. We placed our dinner order when we received our appetizer, and the timing of the food was quite good. The surf and turf was served first, followed shortly by the roll. The surf and turf came with soup and salad; the soup was basically a broth, but it was delicious, and the salad, though small, had a flavorful dressing. The surf and turf was cooked beautifully and tasted fantastic. The steak was tender, and both the lobster and shrimp were prepared to perfection. The roll arrived warm and, as its name suggests, was indeed delicious! Our drinks were refilled promptly, and the waitstaff was attentive without being intrusive throughout our meal. As for pricing, it was on the higher side—a bit $40 for the surf and turf, $11 for the yummy roll, and another $11 for the drink. The cost of the roll seems to be about average, so perhaps it’s just the surf and turf that was a bit pricier. The roll came with eight sizable pieces; I might have preferred smaller, bite-sized pieces, but it was still quite tasty! I will definitely be returning, as they have a very extensive menu and I’m eager to try the hibachi, which looked like it would provide a great show!

This has officially become my favorite sushi spot in town! The menu offers a wide variety of options, and the rolls are sizable with perfectly paired, flavorful ingredients. We tried five different rolls, spanning from the highest to the lowest price range, and each one was delicious. The customer service was outstanding as well. The staff was friendly, our waitress frequently checked on us, and she answered all our questions. I can't wait to return, and I highly recommend this place!

This was our first visit, and we chose to sit in a booth instead of at the hibachi grill. We ordered sushi rolls and tried a scorpion drink, which was delicious. The menu had a fantastic big selection at moderate prices. We will definitely be returning!

Very lovely place. The entrance is a little closed off. The house juice was my favorite (had to get one to go) I ordered California roll 8.00 sooo worth every penny. The plates were beautiful and service was fast. My daughter ordered the shrimp plate there were fried veggies big bowl of rice and 5 huge fried shrimp with a crunchy breading. Will definitely be going back
